One Tree Planted is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization based in Vermont, U.S., with the mission to make it simple for anyone to help the environment by planting trees. Together we can restore forests, create habitat for biodiversity, and make a positive social impact around the world.
Since 2014, One Tree Planted has planted 135.5 million trees with 378 partners across 82 countries around the world. With your support, we aid in environmental conservation and restoration across the globe!
Why trees?
Forests provide habitat to over 80% of the world’s terrestrial biodiversity. It provides jobs to over 1.6 billion people, absorb harmful carbon from the atmosphere, and are key ingredients in 25% of all medicines.
Trees help to clean the air we breathe through their leaves and bark, offset carbon and reduce the effects of climate change. They help reduce stress and anxiety, and allow us to reconnect with nature. Trees play a key role in capturing rainwater and reducing the risk of natural disasters like floods and landslides. According to the UN Food and Agriculture Association, a mature evergreen tree can intercept more than 15,000 liters of water every year.
